The advantage of this spot is that, at less than 40 minutes, there is a Cable Wakeboard park, for all those who want to take advantage of these two sports at the same time !

The Spot
The main spot is situated just in front of the hotel.
The wind is side-on, the sandy beach is spacious, protected by a sand bank one hundred meters from the beach, which creates a lagoon at low tide. No danger in the water or on land, this spot is as ideal for beginners as for pro riders who come for training from time to time. Perfect also for downwinders, just ask a Tuc-Tuc to bring you at the end of the beach for a 10 km downwinder in the lagoon and in the waves !
Two other spots are also within easy reach.
The first one is one kilometer downwind : a long jetty stretches in the sea, which creates a huge super flat spot, where one can stand everywhere ! Perfect for fans of flat water, it stays however technical, because one must come back upwind... or else, a long walk awaits you ! Although it is not difficult to find a Tuc-Tuc which will bring you back...
The second spot is about 10 kms upwind, but is really worthwhile. Dolphin Bay, the spot, is surrounded by a beautiful scenery... Vegetation, mountain ( falling sheer ), small Thai harbor and long coconut lined beach... The wind is on-shore on this spot. A sand bank appears at low tide, pretty far from the beach, which creates a huge lagoon where one can stand everywhere... So pleasant to ride on this lagoon, surrounded by this beautiful scenery in a world class spot !
Pranburi is thus a perfect destination to get away from winter and enjoy the incredible conditions of the spot to progress and have fun !
The Wind
Side-on, the wind is present from October to April, with a pause in January. If, at the beginning of the season, from October till December, it is the wind the locals call the « monsoon wind » which is predominant, from 12 to 25 knots, it is replaced from February till end of April by thermal winds created by the mountains just behind the spot, from 12 to 20 knots, which starts around 1-2 pm till the night comes.
It is the combination of these two winds, and the absence of mass tourism, which make this spot so magical !
However, as compared to the other destinations proposed by KiteAcademy, although they have wind stats that many could envy, the wind is not as guaranteed as in the other spots... But it does not matter : if we offer this destination, it's because it is worth it !
Not only Thailand and its people are worth all the trips in the world, but a brand new wake park, Black Mountain Cable Park, has just opened ! The wakeboard cable park is only 40 minutes away from the spot ! For those who want to, it is very easy to ride 2 to 3 hours in the morning at the cable park, followed by 2 to 3 more hours kiting in the afternoon !
Wakeboarding
Built in an artificial lake, Black Mountain Cable Park already offers a few obstacles (slider, fun box and kickers) and many others are under construction.
Much less advertised than big cable parks like Thai Wake Park in Bangkok, it will provide everything you need without the queuing ! Very pleasant, whether a beginner or a pro !
Easily accessible, make the most of your days combining wakeboarding in the morning and kitesurfing in the afternoon !
Pranburi
The village is located at one kilometer from the spot. Very quiet, there is a big Buddhist Temple, a bird market and many small restaurants and shops.
Very few tourists come here, the village is very quiet and the people warm-hearted and happy to welcome you. Don't miss market days, when you will be able to enjoy the incredible variety of the Thai food !
But the real charm of Pranbury is that, because there are so few tourists, the village stayed « authentic »... It is a real serenity temple !
But if you're looking for a little more hustle, Hua-Hin is within a 30 minutes taxi ride from Pranburi. There, you will find everything you need, tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, night clubs...
The Bacchus Home Resort is a 3 star hotel, right on the beach. Very quiet, it offers large comfortable rooms, modern, immaculate, air-conditioned, with a big swimming pool looking onto the beach, a restaurant, and all-you-can-eat American breakfast.
Getting There
Before getting to Pranburi, you need to fly to Thailand. The easiest is to fly directly to Bangkok, were a pick-up is organized, but you can also fly to Hua Hin, much closer.
It is really easy to fly to Bangkok, from anywhere, but it is more difficult to find flights to Hua Hin.
Camps and Offers
Our camps and offers in Pranburi have one characteristic, they are « wind/no wind ». They are kitesurfing and wakeboarding camps at the same time ! They will allow wakeboarders to try the joy of kitesurfing and kitesurfers to try riding the wakeboard way, or the fans of both to improve their skills both in kitesurfing and in wakeboarding !
Progression and Coaching Camps in Pranburi take place in February/March : available for the 2016 season !

KiteZone @ TheBeachHousePranburi offers rooms associated to a kite club, KiteZone. The rooms are big and comfortable; KiteZone offers a small bar/restaurant on the spot, as well as a small pool. Very friendly, the atmosphere is very warm between kiters of all nationalities, and the improvised parties at the bar are always pleasant !
